Who is the WorkCover Ombudsman
The WorkCover Ombudsman is a statutory officer appointed by the South Australian State government to provide free advice and assistance to injured workers and employers who have a complaint about the South Australian workers compensation scheme.
The Office of the WorkCover Ombudsman is established pursuant to Part 6D of the
Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1986 (SA) and commenced operation on 1 July 2008.
The WorkCover Ombudsman is independent of the government, WorkCoverSA, Employers Mutual Limited, self-insured employers, unions and employer groups and must act impartially and in the public interest.
Currently, the Office consists of 3 staff in addition to the WorkCover Ombudsman and is located at Level 6, Chesser House 91-97 Grenfell Street, Adelaide.
